So you booked your senior session (YAY!) now its time to make another decision – selecting a location for your senior pictures! Let’s be honest that is what senior year is all about – decision making! So this is just a little practice on decision making! But, no fear! I am here to help you with this decision! After photographing 8 classes of seniors, we have a system to help you select the perfect location for your senior session! Including an exclusive Senior Style Guide with guidance in selecting your outfits and some wonderful location recommendations for you to choose from! So today let’s jump into how to select a location for your senior session AND some of our favorite locations to work at!

Your Senior Session Vision

First things first. When you think of your senior pictures, what do you envision? A glowy field? An urban space? Flowers? Water? Buildings and city feel? Spend some time thinking about what you envision and maybe even what you don’t envision. Along with this it is important to keep in mind how many locations are included in your collection. At KAP we have a collection with one location and another collection with two locations!

Your Style & Personaility

Now that you have an overall vision in mind, we want to make sure your senior session and the location reflect YOU! So when thinking about your location, we challenge you to think about you and your style, personality, hobbies, etc. For example you might love flowy dresses and flowers and your personality is bubbly and giggly – then maybe a flower field at golden hour is perfect for you! OR maybe you play football so having photos done on the field is exactly what you envision!

Visit the locations or explore a new location

In your senior style guide you will receive a list of some of my favorite locations to shoot. If you have time, we encourage you to visit the locations or even explore another location that you love or know of! Location is ultimately up to you so if you love your family’s farm or have private property that you would like to take photos at – we can certainly do that! It adds a personal touch to your session – which we always love! 🙂
